The ideal candidate to join our Monrovia, California office has at least 10 years of Risk Management experience, including workplace safety, insurance, risk identification and mitigation practices. High volume, multi-state experience is a must, and previous retail or grocery experience is a plus.

The Risk Management Director will oversee the organization's comprehensive insurance, safety, and Risk Management program, assessing and identifying risks that could impede the organization's reputation, safety, security, or financial success.

Principal Responsibilities: Effectively manage all aspects of the company's Risk Management, safety, and casualty programs in a high-volume claims environment Evaluate, analyze, and identify risk exposure to reduce the frequency and severity of events that may impact Crew Member or customer safety, or financial loss Ensure Companywide compliance with relevant laws and regulations related to Risk Management & Safety Mitigate the Company's exposure to risk by formulating, developing, and coordinating claims-related activities on large claims and resolving claims using various risk transfer techniques Direct the efficient structuring of all insurance programs. Develop and support annual renewal strategy meetings with insurance brokers and carriers. Manage all insurance policy applications and ensure the accuracy of related policy documentation, endorsements, etc.

Collaborate with team members and assist in the effective resolution of open claims Review historical claim data to identify claim trends and identify opportunities for improvement Manage relationships and direct activities of multiple third-party service providers, including insurance brokers, carriers, TPA, and attorneys Oversee and ensure department performance to meet evolving goals, initiatives, and key performance indicators Develop direct report(s) to be productive people/team leaders and to meet personal and departmental goals Build and maintain relationships and serve as a trusted resource to all departments, including operations, human resources, finance, stores, IT and real estate Coordinate with cross-functional business partners. Conducts company financial activities by providing support to finance and operations Provide guidance and technical subject-matter expertise for risk and insurance matters Continually improve, design, and operate effective controls to safeguard company assets Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required, Master's in related field or MBA is a plus 10+ years minimum experience in the Risk Management space 5+ years' experience building, leading, mentoring, training, and developing teams Experience in corporate treasury, finance management, or investment management is a plus Experience managing Casualty claims is required Must effectively be able to communicate (both written and oral) with peers, staff, legal counsel, and vendors, including large group presentations Strong analytical and data-driven, quantitative skill set Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks Ability to promote the company culture and mission to all Crew Members, vendors, and business partners Ability to take initiative in a constantly changing work environment while maintaining flexibility and a collaborative attitude What You'll Get.
