About HCI

Healthy Community Initiative (HCI) is a backbone organization for more than 30 youth- and family-serving initiatives in Rice County. The team is dedicated to building partnerships and encouraging community collaborations that support, value, and empower youth. We bring together programs and individuals and provide support so they can put their expertise and resources toward efforts that are proven to improve outcomes for youth and their families. About the Rice CountyChemical and Mental Health Coalition

HCI is the backbone for the Rice CountyChemical and Mental Health Coalition (RCCMHC), which advocates for improving Rice County's Chemical and Mental Health care systems. Using a public health approach, the Coalition is committed to building and improving prevention, intervention (including evidence-based harm reduction strategies), and treatment efforts countywide. RCCMHC formed in 2018 to address the overlap between Chemical and Mental Health among community members. The coalition merged the efforts of the former Rice County ChemicalHealth Coalition (established in 2004) and the Rice CountyMental Health Collective (established in 2011). Several action teams of professionals, community members and youth make up the Coalition. Learn more about the RCCMHC here: https://www.ricecountycmhc.org/
