RIA Regional Director
Alternative Investment Sales
The RIA Regional Director (External Wholesaler) is responsible for the execution of all sales, service, and marketing related activities in their Region. The product structures will include non-traded REIT, BDCs, Interval Funds, and open/closed-end private funds, and to a lesser extent mutual funds and ETF’s. The position will focus on RIA firms and trust banks within the region. The Regional Director is responsible for directly managing major markets within their Region with a client-centric, sales driven approach to the marketplace. The Regional Director's performance is measured by gross fund flows, assets under management, sales activities, client expansion and retention, and broader team contribution to the National Alts sales effort.
The Alternative Investment Team is a newly formed group within AAM. The Product Manager should be comfortable in a startup situation. The AAM model consists of partnering with leading institutional and alternative managers to leverage our distribution capabilities in the financial intermediary space. Expanding into alternative products is a natural extension of our capabilities for the financial professional community.
Territory Available: New England
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and execute a regional sales strategy consistent with the national sales goals with accountability for the overall performance of the region
- Maintain and cultivate existing RIA and Trust bank relationships and aggressively expand new RIA and trust bank relationships
- Convey deep technical knowledge of the firm's investment strategies and fund vehicles
- Work effectively in a collaborative team environment
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven track record of success selling alternative and/or complex investment products
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Clearly and concisely explain complex concepts and alternative investment products
- Desire to work in a team environment possessing strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- High degree of self-motivation and professionalism, with a results-driven mindset
- Excellent relationship building and conflict resolution skills
- Significant travel required
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- 10+ years’ experience wholesaling with significant relationships at large RIA firms and trust banks
- Required Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Economics, Finance, or related field
- FINRA SIE Series 7, 63
- CFA, CAIA, CIMA preferred
