Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated RF Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position will be located in Pittsburgh, PA.

Accountabilities:
- Develop and recommend appropriate radio solution (Public Safety domain and Mission Critical domain)
- Create and update technical documentation
- Manage network or component upgrade
- Develop and/or manage the deployment of all aspects of Radio Network engineering and design such as:
- RF coverage analysis; RF antenna subsystems design;
- Capacity augments;
- Provisioning and configuration of network equipment;
- IP-based equipment deployment and servers integration;
- Site documentation Implementation and as-built documentation;
- On-site installation support and system optimization;
- Dispatch console implementation and upgrades;
- In-building coverage system implementation;
- Testing and validation of network equipment;
- Radio terminal configuration.
- Managing, assisting and/or leading in the technical preparation of bids & proposals, the development of system upgrade and network cutover strategies
Required skills/experience:
- Demonstrated professional experience in Telecommunications with particular focus in Land Mobile Radio(LMR) and High Performance Radio Systems
- Experience designing, configuring and testing radio systems (hardware and software).
- Ability to produce CAD drawings
- Ability to produce radio simulations using EDX software or other industry recognized tools
- Working knowledge of wiring specifications for bend radius, spacing, conduit sizes, standard couplings and sizes.
- Familiar with installation details for coaxial cable and fiber optic cable termination, installation, and routing.
- Demonstrated professional experience working in the field, at LMR sites for example.
- Validate, troubleshoot, and characterize reported radio system issues
- Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA-130, and UL as it relates to electrical installations and apparatus.
- Familiar with FCC and FAA rules and regulations as they affect the operation of licensed radio systems
- Possess excellent oral and written communication skills relative to explaining technical concepts and troubleshooting issues
- Create and update technical documentation
- Ability to work individually and/or within a team
Desired skills/experience:
- Knowledge in Network Engineering
- Knowledge in telecommunications systems for the railway industry
- Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering or Information Technology Qualifications/ University Degree
- From 2 to 5 years of Railway System Engineering expertise
Education Required:
Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree
