Compensation Structure: Hourly

Spartan Pool and Patio is a regional provider and has four primary areas of operation, service, maintenance, retail and construction. This position works primarily in conjunction with the retail department but also becomes involved with transferring information to the other departments when needed in a timely manner.

The person that holds this position serves as the initial gateway to our company for our retail store customers. With the ability to shape our customer’s experiences from the very first interaction, it is vital that this person is always kind, polite and can clearly communicate in any situation. They must be able to speak intelligently about our products and services as well as communicate our core values and help our customers in an efficient manner. With the large variety of things that our department is responsible for, it is vital that they consistently take initiative in their daily duties. They must be able to multitask extremely well, and if needed, get the customer’s information to the correct department in a timely manner. There are many facets to this position and it is still growing, so there will always be ways to increase the level of value a person can bring to the company.

Primary Duties for Position:

Assist with and ensure the satisfaction of all Spartan customers that enter our store or call the store concerning the products and services we offer.

Stay current on the necessary employee training based on the guidelines and procedures already in place and/or to be provided.

Share in the daily responsibilities for maintaining the functionality, organization, and cleanliness of the store.

If qualified, participate in being part of our hot tub sales team!

Key Areas of Responsibility:

First and foremost, ensure that all customers receive the recognition and attention that they deserve. This means being present and attentive on the retail floor if not helping another customer or employee. It means taking initiative and being fully aware of any customer issues, concerns, circumstances, or complaints. Addressing these things in a professional and timely manner, in store and over the phone, that aligns with the core values of Spartan Pool and Patio is our goal. We want to provide the best customer experience possible for every customer.

Continually train, develop and improve to be able to provide the best, most effective and efficient experience for our customers. We are the first and sometimes only point of contact for our customers, we need to make sure that interaction is the best it can be. Staying informed and knowledgeable is the first step in doing that.

Help maintain store inventory and processes by bringing any issues or concerns to the attention of the Department Head, Retail Sales Manager, Inventory Manager or the appropriate person. . If you don’t know about something, ask. We will be happy to explain or show how something is done. We are a team, and we all work together. This is our culture.

Have a good, working knowledge about the point-of-sale systems and water testing stations. We have procedures in place to help with this. This includes familiarizing yourself with those procedures to quickly assess and correct the problem, and if necessary, contact the Retail Sales Manager to assist. These steps will ensure those systems stay up and running correctly during business hours.

Take part in participating in the daily cleaning duties and upkeep of the store. This will make sure we maintain a clean and inviting retail area for our customers.

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
