POSITION SUMMARY: To deliver a great customer experience while assisting in the Pharmacy Department with cash register operation, customer service, stocking functions and cleaning to ensure the efficient operation of the department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DETAILED DUTIES:
- Performance of the essential functions of this position require the Associate to possess the minimum qualifications listed. These functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Greet all Customers and provide them with prompt, courteous service and assistance.
- Accurately ring the sale of prescriptions, OTC, and HME items and collect signatures as required.
- Follow proper cash handling policies and report any discrepancies to supervisor.
- Accurately collect proper payment and provide proper change.
- Comply with State and Federal drug laws as regulated by the State Board of Pharmacy, HIPAA, the Drug Enforcement Agency and the Food and Drug Administration.
- Exhibit the utmost professionalism and confidentiality when dealing with patients and their health information.
- Answer the telephone in a friendly and efficient manner.
- Take a prescription from a patient/customer and verify name, address, telephone number, date of birth, allergies, and insurance information.
- Organize and stock pharmaceuticals as directed by Pharmacist.
- Help Customers locate over-the-counter stock.
- Be knowledgeable of products carried in the Department.
- Must complete the HIPAA Privacy and Security training modules.
- Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment.
- Clean and sanitize all work surfaces, utensils and equipment in accordance with department Sanitation and QA standards.
- Keep floor clear of debris and spills.
- Regularly lift, pull, push and rotate merchandise that weights 25 lbs. and that occasionally weights up to 50 lbs.
- Stand at work station for duration of scheduled shift, which may exceed 8 hours per day.
- Check prices and be knowledgeable about location of items in the store.
- Perform all duties in accordance with Local, State and Federal regulations as they pertain to the Pharmacy operation.
- Perform all duties in accordance with Company rules, policies, safety requirements, and security standards and all Local, State and Federal health and civil code regulations.
- Complete all applicable department training programs.
- Maintain punctual and regular attendance.
- Work cooperatively with others.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Assist front store operations.
- Assist with pharmacy clerical duties such as filing processed, hard copied prescriptions and other pharmacy records.
- Perform a variety of duties for stock maintenance, including but not limited to: placing orders, unpacking orders within 24 hours of receipt, check for and return outdates or damaged inventory for credit when needed. Report discrepancies to supervisor.
