Retail Energy Efficiency Product Analyst

New Jersey

MD Energy Advisors is a rapidly growing energy consulting and management company that provides Energy Efficiency program implementation consulting services for utilities across the United States, and we are looking for customer centric individuals to join our team.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Retail Energy Efficiency Product Analyst is responsible for supporting growth and expansion of PSEG New Jersey Energy Efficiency Products. This individual will provide education and information about PSEG’s products in over 500 retail locations throughout the PSEG service territory and ensure products are accurately priced. The Retail Energy Efficiency Product Analyst will provide education to employees at retail locations on the product benefits and best practices for selling products to consumers, as well as assist clients with understanding potential savings opportunities.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (Majority of duties and expectations, but not to be all-inclusive or to prevent other duties from being assigned)

  • Perform and follow up on in field service QA/QCactivities at over 500 retail locations
  • Provide education to clients and consumers on residential savings opportunities. This includes providing knowledge and information on energy efficient technologies such as appliances, electronics, and HVAC equipment to retail associates, contractors and other trade allies participating in programs targeted at the residential sector as well as consumers
  • Conduct Retailer/Trade Ally outreach and training as needed
  • Prepare status reports to accurately describe activities in the field and to monitor progress towards achievement of program goals
  • Attend client sponsored promotional events at wholesale and retail levels
  • Assist in preparation of internal and client presentations
  • Contribute to the evolution of program strategies and the design of program features, services, and marketing campaigns
  • Develop rapport and build relationships with retailers and external clients
  • Travel to retail locations within PSEG service area to support residential point-of-sale program
  • Assist with other projects and assignments as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in energy and Energy Efficiency programs or related trade experience
  • Experience with the Energy Efficiency program market in New Jersey
  • One to three years of experience working with commercial trade allies working on Energy Efficiency programs in New Jersey or experience building relationships with trade allies in similar markets
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent time management, organizational and prioritization skills. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage deadline and projects with competing priorities and deadlines
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong proofreading and editing skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to effectively communicate to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Solid quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to connect quickly with others and work effectively at all levels within and outside of the organization, including vendors and business partners
  • Ability to travel within the PSEG New Jersey Service Territory
  • Flexibility to rotating weekends and additional hours as needed
  • Ability to prioritize and work both independently and manage a team
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills required
  • Ability to work well under pressure in time-critical situations and be productive and self- motivated during slow periods
  • Intermediate experience in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access is essential
  • Advanced conflict resolution skills required
  • A valid driver’s license and proof of insurance are required

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business or Communications or Equivalent Experience
  • Bilingual is highly desired
  • Customer-centric mindset
  • Certified Energy Manager, LEED, other industry certifications are a plus

PHYSICAL ABILITIES/PERSONAL SKILLS :

  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, smart phones, office phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines
  • This position requires the individual to travel to retail locations and other locations within the PSEG New Jersey territory
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear
  • The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms and requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies up to 20 pounds
  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods
  • Communication with other to exchange information
  • Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned
