Retail Associate

Ramona Shootists’ Emporium is looking for an outgoing, enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Retail Sales Associate.

We are a full-service firearm shop based in Ramona, CA that serves clients throughout Southern California. Our clientele come from diverse backgrounds and experience levels, and we are proud to be an informed source of education and information for beginners and experts alike.

A day-in-the-life at our shop involves providing an exceptional customer experience, receiving and recording inventory, maintaining accurate records, keeping the shop neat and tidy, processing both state and federal paperwork, working with distributors and keeping up with the latest industry developments and legislation.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is an on site position at 649 Main St., Ste C, Ramona CA

Wednesday through Friday and Saturdays (Hours may expand or change.)

A COE (Certificate of Eligibility) and background check is required for this position. If you do not already have a current COE, we will help you obtain one. Please note that work can only begin after you have received a COE, which may take 2 to 4 weeks to process.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Processing retail transactions of firearms, gear, ammunition, and other products and services.
• Recording firearm, ammunition and powder transactions according to state and federal regulations.
• Maintaining knowledge of legislation, and attending in-house and/or out-of-house training sessions.
• Providing information related to firearms, legislation and shooting sports to clientele, and being proactive to stay abreast of changes in the industry or researching and asking questions when you aren’t sure.
• Keeping the shop neat and tidy throughout your shift.
• Opening and closing the shop, which includes putting out and safely storing 100+ firearms per day.
• Processing purchase orders, including recording regulated goods appropriately, tagging and logging shipments into the POS system.
• Using the directory of distributors to find items for customers.
• Auditing your paperwork to ensure accuracy.
• Other duties and responsibilities as required.

Requirements:

• 21 years of age or older
• Knowledge of firearms
• Ability to pass a background check and obtain a COE (Certificate of Eligibility)
• Ability to work independently without supervision
• Ability to use a computer including POS (Point of Sale) system, Microsoft Suite, and the internet.
• Solid communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in English

• Current COE and/or California DOJ Firearm Safety Certificate Instructor
• Experience with the Slack communication platform

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time
