The Senior Vice President (SVP) of Health Services provides strategic and operational vision and oversight of Health Services across the Transforming Age (TA) network in the areas of resident clinical care, memory care/support, wellness, and lifestyle enrichment activities. This position plays a vital part in the operations of our residential communities by being accountable for the successful development and delivery of world class services and programming. This role is instrumental in understanding and anticipating the needs and complexities of our residents to deliver on the mission of enhancing the lives of older adults. This role requires a strategic, analytical, and visionary leader with a balance of competence in clinical/Health Services and wellness related programming, as well as related regulatory and operational requirements.
Our SVP of Health Services:
- Provides leadership of the Health Services team across the TA network
- Accountable for the development, delivery, monitoring and measurement of clinical services, memory support and life enrichment.
- Advises EDs, NHAs, DONs and other operations leaders on trends, benchmarks, and best practices to continuously improve how we deliver on our mission.
- Ensures clinical and pharmacy audits, as well as mock surveys, are conducted and that any gaps or plans of correction are closed/completed in a timely manner.
- Ensures effective delivery of all rehab services through monitoring financial results and Quality metrics of third-party therapy providers as well as in-house therapy programs.
- Effectively analyzes KPIs and other internal and external data sources to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Effectively plans, executes, and leads change.
- Drives operational excellence and quality improvement initiatives within Health Services.
- Actively collaborates as a member of the risk management team.
- Is responsible for setting the vision and goals of Health Services for the Transforming Age network of affiliates, and then systematically managing to completion in collaboration with the TA Operations leadership team.
- Provides strategies and guidance related to staffing ratios for different care levels and departments within Health Services.
- Develops and maintains relationships with external vendors and internal partners.
- Prioritizes team engagement and team development by establishing regular 1:1s and team meetings.
- Ensures compliance with all laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures within Health Services at TA communities.
- Works with executive leadership to develop and execute initiatives to meet company goals and standards and all state and national regulatory requirements.
- Stays abreast of changes within the senior living industry in respect to new concepts, innovative ideas, regulatory changes, changes to licensure requirements and changes in laws related to Health Services.
- Promotes the Mission, Vision and Values of Transforming Age in all areas of responsibility, and demonstrate commitment to Culture of Excellence and strategic goals
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What you need to succeed:
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of 5 years leading Health Services for a large, national provider of senior living communities.
- 10 years or more of progressive experience in senior living operations with demonstrated oversight and knowledge of the care components (AL/MC/SNF) in the continuum.
- Must be able to travel 50% or more of the time.
- Current licensure as Nursing Home Administrator, in good standing.
- Must possess current driver’s license.
- Requires knowledge and experience in laws governing the operations of senior living communities and licensed levels of care.
- Knowledge and experience in state and federal wage and hour laws.
- Strong financial acumen and budget management experience.
- Ability to effectively advocate ideas and influence internal and external audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to manage, supervise, train, and communicate orally and in writing to internal and external partners.
- Proficiency in computer use and relevant software applications such as Microsoft 365, Point Click Care, NetSuite.
