Regional Branch Manager, Boston/West Region
Position Summary:
Reporting to the VP of Retail Administration, serve in 1 of 2 Regions to drive branch performance, sales growth and positive member experiences by creating a member-centric culture as manager and mentor overseeing the respective branches of the region. Ensure assigned Region's branches operate in a safe and secure manner and conform with all security requirements. Participate in and manage sales programs to ensure sales goals are met.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Lead, coach, and support day-to-day operations of Branch Managers including:
    • Conduct regular branch visits and attend their team meetings.
    • Provide coaching/development to team members and develop Individual Development Plans or Performance Improvement Plans when necessary.
    • Assist with all branch scheduling issues and work with the scheduling coordinator to resolve any issues related to staffing. Provide coverage to branches as needed for opening/closing and lunches.
    • Monitor completion of required audits and compliance training for assigned branches.
    • Work with Branch Managers to oversee all human resource activities including all hiring/firing/reviews. Ensure employee development through regular coaching and oversight of performance.
    • Provide approvals and system overrides for branch transactions in excess of employee limits.
    • Oversee branch budgets and work with Branch Managers to stay within expected variances, responding to any variances outside of expectations. Monitor branch tracking reports (i.e. NSF, over/short) to ensure budget targets are being met.
    • Monitor Sales Referral System to ensure staff makes effective referrals to retail partners.
    • Oversee and work with Branch Managers on audit responses from external and internal audit reviews.
    • Monitor and review contact events for branches and individuals to ensure tickets are being resolved in a timely manner and when not, work with the respective Branch Manager to improve performance.
    • As needed, assist members with account openings and daily financial transactions. Schedule and perform loan interviews, aid members in completion of loan applications, collect required documents and ensure approval conditions are met. Open consumer deposit accounts for members including for businesses and trusts.
    • Process a variety of transactions including check cashing, deposits/withdrawals, loan payments and payoffs, official checks and money orders, cash advances, etc. as needed.
  • Monitor branch sales performance and work with Branch Managers to identify strategies to obtain assigned branch sales goals.
  • Serve as an escalation point for resolution of service issues and member complaints, ensuring all issues are resolved appropriately.
  • Work closely with Retail Administration to identify operational inefficiencies and provide suggestions for improvements.
  • Participate in projects related to the Retail branches as needed.

Requirements:
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of banking experience strongly preferred.
  • Previous sales management experience strongly preferred.
  • Maintain an active mortgage loan originator ("MLO") license with the National Mortgage Loan Service registry according to the credit union's Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing ("S.A.F.E.") Act policy and procedures strongly preferred.
  • Notary Public strongly preferred.

  • Knowledge of computers, web browsers, and Microsoft Office product suite

Work Environment:
  • While based in a "home branch," this position requires travel to each Branch in assigned region
  • Boston/West Region includes all Boston branches (Mass Ave., Comm Ave., Govt. Center, Morrissey Blvd., and West Roxbury) and Chelsea-Main, Chelsea-Broadway, Melrose, Newton, and Framingham branches
