Retail Account Merchandiser

JOB SUMMARY:
The Retail Account Merchandiser will be responsible for the display and handling of battery products at various customer sites. This includes product and sales training, proper displays of the batteries, promotion of battery testing in service bays, handling inventory and warranty issues including physical inventory counts, and building relationships with store managers and sales personnel. Occasional overnight travel and store set-ups are required.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Visually inspect merchandise displays and ensure they meet written expectations
• Inspect product for date freshness and verify with electronic device
• Provide training on product knowledge, selling, testing, spill containment, returns, & charging
• Ensure POS material is up to date and meets written expectations
• Ensure electronic catalog and testers are available and functional
• Interface with customer’s Regional Managers, Store Managers, Department Managers, Team Leads, Sales Associates, and Technicians
• Follow-up on any specific requests made by customer
• Point of primary contact with customer & FMP
• Responsible for growth of sales at store level
• Manage daily / weekly / monthly store visit schedule

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Strong oral and written communications in English. Bilingual is a plus
• Must be detail oriented and work well with numbers
• Demonstrated ability to follow up and complete tasks independently in a timely and accurate manner
• Ability to operate personal computer and software including FMP mainframe, Microsoft Office, and internet
• Demonstrated ability for relationship building, problem solving, and handling multiple assignments

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• This is primarily a field-based position
• Some overnight travel may be required
• Will require frequent computer and cell phone communication from the field

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• High School Diploma or GED. College degree preferred
• Two years’ experience working in a field sales or customer service role
• Should be able to lift up to 40 lbs
