DESCRIPTION: we don't have multiple job titles for our entry level employees but all of our crew will play the role of dishwasher, juicer, prep cook and cook etc. so be prepared to learn a lot and work hard if you join the team. You will be primarily responsible for preparing and cooking food items according to Cafe Ions recipes and standards. You will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work area, as well as providing excellent customer service. Crew members consistently work with other key members of the back of the house and front of the house to bring joy, nourishment and value to customers. Successful crew members are great at communicating, being highly organized, show a consistent willingness to help others, love to cook, and care about helping other live better through food.

Cafe Ion is a quick service lifestyle restaurant creating change through food. We do this by preparing whole frood from scratch everyday in our restaurants. We welcome experienced restaurant professionals and novices alike. We’ll provide the training you need to feel confident working at any station – prep/line cook, barista and juicer. We take pride in our personalized customer service and it’s up to each of our Team Members to create the friendly atmosphere that our customers expect and enjoy. RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

*Show up ready - for yourself, teammates and our customers *Be a positive player in making Leven a place people love to contribute to *Frequent walking and standing for long periods of time *Ability to reach hands and arms in any direction and kneel and stoop repeatedly *Occasionally access high storage shelving with the use of step ladder *Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. *Perform repetitive tasks *Prepare food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner *Support FOH and cross train in order to execute all menu items *Follow recipes and presentation specifications *Operate standard kitchen equipment safety and efficiently *Clean and maintain station in practicing good safety and sanitation as you go *The ability to work in an environment around smoke, steam, high temperatures, and humidity *Must be18 or older

COOK QUALIFICATIONS

*Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen *Knowledge of basic cooking techniques *Organizational skills *Patience *Manual dexterity *Communication skills *Attention to detail *Ability to work under pressure *Very good physical condition and endurance *Basic written and verbal communication skills *Organizational skills *Accuracy and speed in executing tasks *Ability to work as a Team Member *Follows directions and instructions

Education and Experience Requirements:

*High school diploma or equivalent is desirable *Experience with various cooking methods and procedures *Barista experience or work in juice bar a plus *One to two years of experience as a line cook, restaurant cook, or prep cook *Proven experience as a prep cook
