Kobe Steakhouse & Lounge is a Japanese American fusion restaurant serving Teppanyaki style dining along with Sunday brunch experiences and a sushi bar.
We are looking for a competent Restaurant Server to take and deliver orders. You’ll be the face of our restaurant and responsible for our customers’ experiences. Food server responsibilities include ensuring our tables are clean and tidy when guests arrive, presenting menus, and serving food and beverages. You need to be quick on your feet (literally and metaphorically) and have a polite and friendly attitude. If you enjoy talking to people and thrive in a fast-paced workplace, we’d like to meet you. Your ultimate goal will be to provide high-quality service that will help us maintain and attract customers.
Note: We require applicants to have at least a minimum of 3 years of restaurant experience, two of which at least are as a server. This job requires enough experience to handle a large volume of drinks and food per table - specifically the ability to use a serving tray efficiently.
Requirements and Responsibilities include:
- Reporting to work on schedule and wearing a clean uniform at all times. Continues to practice personal hygiene methods before and during all work shifts.
- Obtains station assignments from host/hostess or Manager on duty before a shift and during shift. Completes side jobs when required by the Manager in a timely fashion.
- Present a friendly and efficient image to our customers. Greet them, make suggestions, and practice salesmanship to enhance the dining experience. Do not let customers overorder or make them uncomfortable by practicing salesmanship.
-Make specific notes of customers' orders without making mistakes.
- Process guests orders using the Kobe Steakhouse POS machine to ensure every order is being served correctly and on a timely basis.
- Ensure that all orders are served correctly and promptly to customers. Make sure to check up on them regularly to make sure they have everything they need.
- Maintain all tables and stations accordingly to Kobe standards.
- Teamwork plays a crucial role in Kobe. Make sure to treat not only customers but your own coworkers with respect. Work with fellow employees as needed.
- Communicate with the Manager on duty if guests express concern or dissatisfaction. Never match the customer's tone should it become riled up or aggressive.
- Correctly presents the customer's check and processed payment without error or delay.
- Performs all duties and maintains standards as expected of the station and required by the manager.
Physical Demands:
- All minimum qualifications to perform essential job functions including but not limited to:
- The ability to carry, lift and handle heavy trays, plates, and other equipment, ranging to approximately 35 pounds.
- Must be able to kneel, squat, stoop, etc in order to reach items on a frequent basis.
- Must be prepared and able to stand and walk constantly for the allocated shift time
- Must also have full mobility of fingers to operate point-of-sale equipment as well as prepare/serve food and beverage items.
