Position Title: R&B Outlet Supervisor
Department: R&B Outlets
Reports to: R&B manager
Nature of the Job
Basic Purpose & Objective of the Position
The supervisor is responsible to oversee In-Room Dining, Pool & Deck, Domain and Mini-Bar to ensure prompt, efficient and professional service of food and beverages to Hotel guests.
Main Duties
Customer Services
- Delivers the brand promise and provides exceptional guest service in terms of food and beverage, hospitality and service standards at all times.
- Provides excellent service to internal customers.
- Handles all guest and employee complaints and inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner. Communicates immediately all guest complaints to the R&B Manager.
- Maintains positive guest and colleague interactions with good working relationships.
Your Day-to-Day
- Daily Line-ups
- Directing Team members
- Supervise, guide and direct Room Service team members.
- Ensure the posting of schedules for all team members.
- Computer Programs: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point), Paycom
- Inform and communicate to the team member’s hotel functions and events
- It is the Supervisors responsibility to assist in running consistently high operation standards, and utilization of marketing funds. It is also their responsibility to help meet budget in all areas of cost control with consistent focus on cost of sales and payroll.
- Oversee overall operations of In Room Dining, Domain, Pool and Minibar Departments. Ensure all standards are followed when delivering to hotel guests, residents and patrons.
Operational
- Understand and respond to guest needs and requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Oversee and monitor food and beverage inventory and to ensure quality and profitability.
- Follow all specified procedures to correctly handle all cash, credit and gift certificate transactions.
- Establish and maintain consistent standards of the departments being overseen.
- Maintain an adequate inventory of all necessary supplies and equipment.
- Communicate, on a regular basis, with the Manager to ensure efficient and professional service in the In-Room Dining, Domain, Pool and Minibar Departments.
- Coordinate with the Front Office Department delivery of guest amenities.
People Development
- Supports Swire Hotels’ cultural and people development implementations and characteristics.
Other Duties
Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with SWIRE rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the hotel’s facilities. Employees who violate hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience Requirements
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Beverage experience preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate effectively and professionally with other business departments, guests, and vendors. Ability to diplomatically deal with difficult situations and people, while exhibiting a consistent level of professionalism
Physical Demand
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, or telephone. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10-25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
