Job Description:
The Restaurant Back of House team members are primarily responsible for preparing amazing food to the guests of ARs Bistro within ARs Entertainment Hub. All Restaurant Team Members are cross trained on every positions to allow for rotation and cohesion. This will include service area, Back of House, preparing and serving food.
AR's Bistro is a high volume fast paced restaurant that serves hundreds of people a day. A restaurant team member must be able to keep up with the pace all while offering amazing food at the highest standards and great customer service.
Kitchen Staff Duties and Responsibilities
The kitchen staff performs a wide range of duties in the fast-moving kitchen; they are the utility people, often assisting head cooks, Line Cooks, and Managers with various aspects of meal preparation. Current job listings identify the following duties for kitchen staff:
Basic Food Prep
The kitchen staff arrives early to organize the kitchen and do food prep to streamLine Cooking and meal presentation, including washing, peeling, and cutting fruits and vegetables; mixing ingredients for dishes; and cutting and seasoning meats.
Meal Presentation
The kitchen staff organizes customers’ plates before the waitstaff—or sometimes even the kitchen staff—bring the final product to the customer. They have a working knowledge of the day’s meals and menus and understand what each dish calls for before delivery.
Stock Kitchen and Storeroom
The kitchen staff works with management and head cooks to receive, stack, and properly store food in kitchens, cold storage, and storerooms. They transfer food and supplies to the kitchen as needed.
Cleaning Duties
The kitchen staff is responsible for ensuring all areas of the kitchen, food prep, and food storage areas are clean and properly sanitized. This includes washing dishes and cooking equipment, cleaning floors, sanitizing countertops and cutting boards, and maintaining all areas to health code standards.
Kitchen Setup and Breakdown
If they are the first to arrive, the kitchen staff turns on the lights and grills, starts kitchen prep work, and prepares the kitchen and customer areas for service. When they’re the last to leave, the kitchen staff puts food and dishes away, cleans and mops the floors, and turns off all ovens, stoves, and other cooking equipment.

· Demonstrating the highest standards of guest relations and care when assisting guests at the counter.
· Giving advice, guidance and recommendations on products and menu selection to guests to ensure a positive experience and repeat business.
· Supports the proper execution of all processes, systems and standards
· Helps to execute perfect orders the first time every time.
· Develops and Maintains an exquisite menu
· Rotate stock items as per established procedure
· Adheres to scheduled shifts and is willing to stay beyond when business or circumstances dictate
· Managing queues and meeting guest expectations, upsell to maximize profit.
· Be an example and role model for others to follow.
· Maintain a high standard regarding punctuality, attendance and attitude.
· Maintain a high standard regarding cleanliness and hygiene including a regular deep clean schedule
· Keep the bistro and storage areas clear, well-organized and easy to access
· Help with handling guest concerns regarding the bistro
· Measure and assemble ingredients for menu items
· Participate in regular staff meetings and training as and when required
· Keeping the areas tidy and clean including table clearing, removing and washing dishes, and taking out trash.
· Ensuring compliance with all health code regulations.
· Keep the kitchen and storage areas clear, well-organized
· Other duties as tasked by Restaurant Manager or Chef
QUALIFICATIONS
· Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent required, some College preferred
· Minimum of two years previous food and beverage experience preferred (Quick Service and/or restaurant experience)
· Must have a current ServSafe or similar food handling certification or be willing to get one prior to starting.
· Previous restaurant/quick service experience preferred
· Basic math skills of adding and subtracting required
