Education required: High School Diploma/GED
License, certification and/or registration: Must be licensed by the ASBRT and registered by the NBRC or credentialed as a Neonatal/Pediatric Specialist (NPS) by the NBRC. Certification of PALS or ACLS is preferred for all applicants and in mandatory within one year. Certification of BLS is preferred for hiral processes and required within the orientation period, not to exceed 90 days of hire or transfer.
Experience: Clinical experience obtained while attending Respiratory program and will be able to function in critical settings including initiation, and support of, mechanical ventilation.
Additional skills/abilities: Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly. Must have the ability to perform and recommend procedures in all areas of bronchial hygiene, oxygen therapy, respiratory diagnostic procedures, and all levels of mechanical ventilation.
