Manufacturing Engineer Job Description:
Manufacturing Engineer Duties and Responsibilities:
- Organizing and leading Kaizen event teams.
- Designing internal Kan Ban systems for material availability on a single-piece flow basis.
- Supporting manufacturing through the design, testing, and implementation of fixtures, processes, and systems for continuous improvement.
- Benchmarking existing processes using value stream mapping techniques.
- Implementing 5S in all manufacturing cells.
- Identifying and executing opportunities for design or process improvements.
- Demonstrating creativity in reducing the cost of materials, components, and labor for furnace system assembly.
- Documenting manufacturing processes and procedures through written SOPs.
- Maintaining production metric boards and production wheels for efficient communication.
- Assisting the production team, addressing questions, and troubleshooting fabrication issues.
- Maintaining professional and technical knowledge through educational workshops and participation in professional societies.
- Assisting with equipment analysis to assess the risk of potential hazards.
- Contributing to various aspects of the business to ensure strategic and tactical goals are met.
Manufacturing Engineer Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in an Engineering-related discipline.
- 5 years of work experience in LEAN manufacturing environments.
- Friendly and professional tone and actions.
- Inventive problem-solving skills.
- Organized and detail oriented.
- Strong ability to multitask.
- Project and process management skills.
- Solid Works & AutoCAD experience required.
- CAM Software knowledge a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office/Windows.
- Some travel may be required for training, industry-related activities, or customer support.
- Physical demands include talking, hearing, handling documents, objects, tools, or controls, occasional standing, walking, sitting, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, and lifting to 50 lbs.
- Work environment includes typical office and manufacturing settings with varying noise levels.
