Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Respiratory Therapist to join our team. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing respiratory care to patients in a hospital setting. Your expertise and knowledge will be crucial in assessing patients, administering treatments, and ensuring their overall respiratory well-being.
Responsibilities:
- Perform patient assessments to determine respiratory needs and develop appropriate care plans
- Administer respiratory treatments and therapies, including oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and chest physiotherapy
- Monitor and evaluate patient responses to treatments and adjust care plans as necessary
- Provide critical care support to patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) who require ventilator assistance
- Assist with airway management procedures, such as intubation and extubation
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care
- Educate patients and their families on respiratory conditions, treatment options, and self-care techniques
- Document all patient interactions, treatments, and progress accurately in medical records
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of respiratory physiology and anatomy
- Proficiency in performing patient assessments and interpreting vital signs
- Experience working in critical care settings, such as the ICU
- Ability to ventilate patients effectively and manage artificial airways
- Knowledge of pediatric respiratory care practices is a plus
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members
Requirements:
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license/certification
- Completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
