Job Description:
We are currently seeking a motivated and dedicated Respiratory Therapist to join our healthcare team in Atlanta, GA. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a crucial role in assisting patients who are experiencing breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders. Your primary responsibility will be to provide proper assessment, treatment, and education to improve patients' respiratory health.
Responsibilities:
- Perform patient assessments, including physical examinations and diagnostic tests, to evaluate respiratory conditions and determine appropriate treatment plans.
- Administer respiratory treatments and therapies, such as oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and chest physiotherapy as prescribed by physicians.
- Conduct and interpret diagnostic tests, such as arterial blood gas analysis, pulmonary function tests, and sleep studies, to monitor patients' respiratory health and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
- Educate patients and their families about respiratory disorders, treatment options, and at-home management techniques to improve long-term quality of life.
- Monitor and document patients' progress and response to treatment, making appropriate adjustments as necessary.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop comprehensive care plans for patients.
- Participate in emergency response teams, providing immediate respiratory support and care during critical situations.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in respiratory therapies, equipment, and techniques through continuing education and professional development.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or a related field.
- Valid licensure as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of Georgia.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Strong knowledge of respiratory disorders, treatments, and technologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment, managing multiple tasks and priorities.
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills to assess patient conditions and make informed decisions.
- Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations, demonstrating calmness and quick thinking.
