Job Description
Salary is 90% of $83,604. The work week is 36 hours. Three 12-hour shifts: day shift is 6:30am-7:00pm, night shift is 6:30pm-7:00am
Position Focus: Under the supervision of a higher level Respiratory Therapist, the Respiratory Therapist II provides respiratory therapy services in the evaluation and treatment of patients; and performs other related duties as assigned.
Education Requirement: Applicants must have a baccalaureate degree in respiratory therapy from a school of respiratory therapy approved at the time of graduation by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) or the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
Substitutions Allowed: An associate degree in respiratory therapy from a program approved at the time of graduation by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) or the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP
Experience Requirement: This is an entry-level Respiratory Therapist position that requires no experience.
License Required: A valid license with the State of Hawaii as a Respiratory Therapist at the time of appointment.
Certification Required: Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider (adult, child and infant) must be obtained within (6) months of employment. Current Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider (adult, child and infant) is preferred. Please submit copy of certification with the application
Must be available to work shifts, weekends and holidays as necessary based on hospital operations. Services are provided 24/7.

Medical Examination RequirementOffers of employment will be contingent on successfully passing a pre-employment examination, which includes drug screen and other regulatory medical requirements such as, but not limited to, a tuberculosis (TB) screen. The cost for drug screening and blood draw for QuantiFERON and Titers, shall be borne by the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation.
