• Sign-on bonus: $15,000 for experienced and $12,000 for new grads
• Department: Respiratory Therapy
• Schedule: Every Saturday & Sunday, 24 hours per week, 2X12 hours day shift, 7:00am-7:30pm
• Hospital: Ascension St. Agnes
• Location: Baltimore, MD

One year critical care experience preferred, NICU experience is a plus

Responsibilities

Provide evaluation of and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies.

• Assess patient for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop a plan of care based on diagnosis.
• Implement and monitor patient care plan and equipment.
• Monitor, record and communicate patient condition.
• Perform advanced respiratory care modalities.
• Evaluate respiratory practice, administration of medication, and treatment based on patient outcome.
• Educate the patient, and family about the health condition, and provide information about community support groups, and other available programs.
• Assist with care, calibration and maintenance of all equipment.
• Participate in maintaining departmental inventory level for supplies and equipment.
• Process equipment per established cleaning/sterilization procedures.
• Respond to emergency resuscitation team calls.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from the Maryland Board of Physicians obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Respiratory Therapist credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) preferred.

 

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's
  degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
