Residential Counselor (Overnights)

Founded in 1889 as an orphanage for abandoned and wayward children, today St. Mary's Home for Boys offers residential and day treatment services to at-risk boys between the ages of 13 and 17 who are emotionally disturbed and behaviorally delinquent. The individualized program provides each client with a structured regimen to ensure his successful transition to public school, the community and an appropriate living environment. General description of responsibilities:

• Responsible for the safety and security of 67 clients.
• Performs consistent and frequent bedroom monitoring for clients every 10-20 minutes.
• Conducts security checks, and confirms there are no unauthorized personnel on campus.
• Thoroughly and efficiently checks the restroom before and after each usage.
• Assists in crisis interventions with clients.
• Sets clear and reasonable limits with clients.
• Records all medications/medical problems during shift in an accurate manner.

Educational and Experience Requirements:

• BA/BS in Psychology, Sociology, and/or experience in a similar setting preferred
• Prior experience (paid or volunteer) in a residential treatment facility or similar setting is desired.
• Previous graveyard experience preferred.

Additional Information:

• Starting rate: $22.05 - 26.46/hour (Depending on Experience)
• Schedule:10:45 p.m. – 6:45 a.m., includes weekends. Two consecutive days off during the week.
• Must pass State and FBI background check with fingerprints.
