About being our Resident Engineer - Transportation

You will work on one or more projects located in the Greater Sacramento and Roseville Area. Typical project assignments last between 6 months and 2 years. You will work independently, under general supervision, and in conjunction with the Client Project Manager to direct and supervise field construction activities and staff, office engineering, inspection, materials testing, field contract administration, and act as a liaison with clients/owners, consultants, contractors, design professionals, and regulatory agencies. You will support roadway, highway and or streetscape projects.

Responsibility Highlights for our Resident Engineer - Transportation

• Coordinate pre-construction activities such as submittal reviews and pre-construction meetings
• Perform Resident Engineer duties during construction including, but not limited to management of project subconsultants, record keeping (in compliance with Caltrans Construction Standards), payment tracking, change orders, weekly meetings, etc.
• Oversight of project inspector(s)

Minimum Qualifications to be our Resident Engineer - Transportation

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related engineering discipline
• Active California Professional Engineering (PE) license
• Demonstrated experience administering Caltrans and/or local agency contracts under the Caltrans LAPM requirements
• 7 years of construction management or project management experience
• Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal
• Proficient with MS Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications for our Resident Engineer - Transportation

• Project specific experience as a Resident Engineer for local agencies (such as Cities and Counties and Caltrans)
• Familiar with Caltrans and FHWA procedures
