TheResearch Technician will perform routine laboratory, greenhouse, and field work independently and/or under the general supervision of the Principle Investigator and will provide technical support. This position may work up to 40 hours per week and it will be a grant funded position. Continuation is contingent on future grant funding.

Desired Qualifications
- Evidence of an M.S. in, Applied Biology, horticulture, agriculture, soil, plant and environmental Sciences, or other related disciplines.
- Experience in conducting field, greenhouse, or laboratory experiments unsupervised.
- Experience working in extreme conditions.
- Experience with Microsoft office and data analysis using statistical software, and prepare research reports.
- Evidence of effective communication skills.
- Experience in multi-tasking and working cooperatively in collaborations.
- Evidence in willingness to learn new scientific techniques.
- Have a valid US driver's license and drive vehicles to remote field locations.

Essential Duties
- Collection, management, and processing soil, plant, and microbial samples.
- Preparation of soil, plant, and microbial samples for physical, biochemical, and molecular analysis.
- Collection of periodical field and greenhouse data.
- Optimization of research methods.
- Contributing to peer-reviewed publications (e.g., technical reports, bulletins, and manuscripts) and presenting at scientific meetings.
- Procurement of laboratory, field, and greenhouse supplies, assist the PI in outreach activities and overall efficient lab functioning.
