Desired Qualifications:
- Ph.D. with emphasis in research design and advanced statistics.
- History of publications in peer-reviewed scholarly journals.
- Subject area preference in psychology or closely related fields, such as public health, health, or interest and experience in inter-section between physical and behavioral health
- Expertise in survey development, validation, and psychometrics
- Proficiency with statistical analysis software (SPSS, SAS, and/or r)

Behavioral Health Website
- Consultation with potential researchers on study design (variables, data, and data sources)
- Designs, organizes, and develops research plans on behavioral health topics
- Development and maintenance of data capture tools including creating surveys, developing forms and procedures, and conducting interviews and focus groups
- Writing queries to extract data from local data sources including electronic health records
- Extracting data from national datasets
- Evaluating quality of datasets and manipulation into a usable form
- Running assumption tests in configuring and recoding the data to match the client's needs and address his/her hypothesis
- Conducting Univariate and Multinomial Logistic Regression Analysis
- Research alternate statistical techniques to improve existing processes
- Configuring tables and charts
- Helping prepare manuscripts for presentation and publication including authoring and editing the "methods and results" sections of abstracts and manuscripts
- Presentation of results to stakeholders and in professional conferences
Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master's degree in social science, statistics, mathematics, economics, business/public administration, public health, data processing, or any of the natural sciences, which included graduate level courses in research design, data collection methods, and advanced statistical analysis. (Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for up to two years of the required education, on the basis of 10 semester or 15-quarter units of graduate level course work equaling 6 months.)
Experience: Two years of progressively responsible experience in administrative, professional, investigative, technical, or other responsible work, which included statistical analysis, research or program design and data collection, and electronic data storage and report generation or grant writing. Previous experience in industry-sponsored or federally-funded clinical trials (drugs and/or devices) in a hospital setting is highly desirable.
OPTION II
Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master's degree in social science, statistics, mathematics, economics, business/public administration, public health, data processing, or any of the natural sciences, which included graduate level courses in research design, data collection methods, and advanced statistical analysis. (Additional qualifying experience may substitute for up to two years of the required education, on the basis of 10 semester or 15-quarter units of graduate level course work equaling six months.)
Experience: Two years as a Research Specialist I in Riverside County in a Department of Public Social Services, Public Health, Behavioral Health, Emergency Management, Probation, hospital, or clinical research center. Previous experience in industry-sponsored or federally-funded clinical trials (drugs and/or devices) in a hospital setting is highly desirable.
License: Possession of a valid California Driver's License.
