- Recruit patients for studied by collecting data and retrieving medical record information.
- Transcribe, code, clean and enter data.
- Maintain an inventory of data collection forms to ensure ease of data retrieval.
- Construct data tables and prepares materials for presentations.
- Conduct literature searches, copying and distributing articles as appropriate.
- Perform all other duties that may be assigned in the best interest of the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.
Reporting Relationships
- Reports directly to the Research Scientist, Principal Investigator or Project Manager, but may be additionally mentored by a graduate student of post-doctoral fellow, depending on department structure.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
- Communication and mathematics skills normally acquired through college-level coursework.
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
- Ability to accurately review and enter project data.
- Analytical ability required to prepare reports, maintains data inventory, and perform literature searches.
- Ability to strictly adhere to an approved written protocol.
- Interpersonal skills needed to interact effectively with patients, physicians and all Institute staff as well as to effectively work with supervisors from various research projects.
Working Conditions
- Normal office environment with little or no exposure to dust or extreme temperature.
