Job Purpose and Impact
The Research Scientist, will plan, organize and perform scientific research projects in a chemistry and engineering field. In this role, you will develop theories for understanding, characterizing and organizing natural phenomena into a systematic and relevant pattern for research into potential new products or inventions.
Key Accountabilities
- Coordinate interdepartmental activities and research eff orts.
- Participate in intellectual property evaluations and development of patent applications.
- Present ongoing work and fi ndings to senior staff and external events and summarizes the nature andmethodology of the research.
- Collaborate with industry or academic specialists to apply the results of research and develop newtechniques.
- Coordinate and conduct process scale-up, piloting, optimizations, and bench synthesis of new ingredients.
- Handle basic issues and problems under direct supervision, while escalating more complex issues toappropriate staff .
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field OR equivalent experience
- Beginning-to-working knowledge of research techniques
- Lab experience in the field of food safety research
- One or more year of related work experience
