This role will be on-site at the Corteva location.
What You’ll Do:
- Conduct and summarize results on a variety of experiments.
- Perform daily greenhouse plant care, including pollinating, transplanting, watering, harvesting and seed handling for corn, soybean and other crops.
- Interact and collaborate with various departments.
- Train new team members as needed.
- Collect and enter data into software systems.
- Communicate changes and approaches with team members and/or collaborators to meet weekly workload, timelines, and project needs.
- Ensure all regulatory and compliance procedures are being followed with pollination processes.
- Participate in process evaluation metrics; suggest and implement improvements for continuous operational excellence.
- Occasionally lead the shift and independently resolve production issues as they arise on the weekend shift.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
- You have your high school diploma/GED.
What Skills You Need:
- You have the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- You have strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal and excellent organizational skills.
- You are knowledgeable and experienced using Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel, Outlook.
- You are self-driven so you always meet deadlines.
- You have a high attention to detail and excellent problem solving skills.
- You are willing and able to stand/sit for long periods of time and perform repetitive work in a warm, humid greenhouse with pollen present year-round.
- You are able to work a daytime schedule with the requirement of working all weekends with two days off during the week to be determined at time of hire.
What Makes You Stand Out:
- B.S. in Agronomy, Horticulture, Biology, or related field of study.
