The Role
Research Associate II/Senior Research Associate - AAV Manufacturing. Producing high-quality AAV capsids is essential for Dyno's mission to advance gene therapy. The AAV Manufacturing Team produces AAV at large-scale to support in vivo studies at Dyno. We are looking for a Research Associate to operate and assist in optimizing an adherent cell bioreactor scale production, along with accompanying downstream purification and quality control procedures.
How You Will Contribute
As a Research Associate II/Senior Research Associate in the AAV Manufacturing Team you will help run a large-scale AAV manufacturing pipeline consisting of an upstream automated adherent cell bioreactor production, downstream purification processes, and quality-control assays. Your primary responsibility will be operating the pipeline to produce high-quality capsid for subsequent in vivo studies; you will also work with other members of the AAV Manufacturing Team to implement process improvements, and train others on new and existing methods. Your efforts will ensure that Dyno has high-quality AAV capsids to support in vivo validation studies.
Responsibilities:
- Perform established AAV production, purification, and quality-control protocols to attain consistent and reliable results
- Maintain cultured cell lines to support large-scale AAV production
- Help to develop and integrate process improvements into pipeline
- Train others on new and established procedures
- Create and maintain proper documentation for protocols and results

Basic qualifications
- BS/BA in biology, biochemistry, chemical engineering, or related fields
- 3+ years full-time hands-on laboratory experience
- Highly skilled in mammalian cell culture (aseptic technique, maintenance, transfection)
- Experience in viral vector (preferably AAV) production and purification
- Ability to conduct advanced procedures precisely and reproducibly
- Ability to document, maintain and present an organized account of lab work and results
Preferred qualifications
- 1+ years of industry experience
- Skilled in QC methods to assess AAV titer and purity including qPCR, ddPCR, and SDS-PAGE
- Experienced in chromatography-based methods for protein purification
- Experience using bioreactors for AAV production
- Skilled at ELN/LIMS usage (eg. Benchling)
