Coordinator, Emergency Management - Central Campus
- Supports exercise planning, development, conduct, evaluation, and continuous improvement in support of the College's plans and operations in accordance with the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP).
- Liaison with exercise participants and players to ensure coordinated and successful exercise activities across the district and whole community partners.
- Facilitates NIMS and ICS training and ensures adequate recordkeeping for the College's NIMS/ICS compliance and audits.
- Maintains and tracks the College's Emergency Management training schedule and records.
- Develops and facilitate exercises to test and validate the College's core capabilities, plans, and procedures.
- Facilitates exercise hotwashes, develops After Action Reports (AARs) and Improvement Plans (IPs), and monitors the progress of improvement plan completion.
- Works with OEM staff to review plans and initiate changes based on outcomes of exercises and real-world incidents.
- Utilizes research skills to identify and leverage best practices to influence training intentions and exercise activities.
- Delivers training in both virtual and in-person formats to ensure engagement and effective learning.
- Provides technical assistance to college stakeholders in developing and implementing preparedness programs pertaining to exercises and training.
- Represent SJC in various external stakeholder meetings and on project management teams.
- Assists in community Emergency Management activities such as community fairs, events and related trainings, and exercises.
- Ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Office - Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience with emergency mass notification software preferred.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Texas driver's license (within 6 months of employment)
- Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of individuals with diverse backgrounds and maintain good working relationships across the College.

- A bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, emergency response, public safety, public health, criminal justice, public administration, or closely related field.
- A master's degree in Emergency Management, emergency response, public safety, public health, criminal justice, public administration, or a closely related field.
- Two years of experience in Emergency Management, emergency response, public safety, public health, criminal justice, or public administration.
- Three years of experience in Emergency Management, emergency response, public safety, public health, criminal justice, or public administration.
- IS-100.B, ICS-200.B, ICS-700.A, ICS-800, IS-120.C, IS-130.A, IS-271.A, IS-362.A, IS-870.A
- Associate Emergency Manager (AEM) or Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) issued by the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM) and/or a state association EM certification.
- Master Exercise Practitioner
