The primary responsibility of the Research Associate I / Clinical Research Coordinator is to lead all aspects of conducting clinical trials according to FDA and GCP regulations.
The Clinical Research Coordinator should have a thorough knowledge of study protocols and good clinical practices as outlined in the code of federal regulations. As the primary resource for the protocols, the Clinical Research Coordinator will act as liaison between the investigator, the institutional review board (IRB), and the sponsor.
The Clinical Research Coordinator will recruit, screen and enroll study subjects following study protocols, IRB, and Red Cross guidelines.
The Clinical Research Coordinator is also responsible for database entry, source documentation, adverse experience reporting, and maintaining all study documentation, and training records. Additionally, the Clinical Research Coordinator should be willing to cross train in laboratory to assist to perform assays, sample prep, analysis, shipping, and maintaining laboratory record as needed. A background in biological science highly desired.
Responsibilities:
  • Serving as the main point of contact with study sponsors and the IRB
  • Recruiting and enrolling trial participants including the administration of informed consent.
  • Managing IRB submissions, amendments, continuations and study close outs.
  • Maintaining and managing all clinical trial records including regulatory documents and training records in an organized fashion.
  • Documenting adverse events, deviations, and note to files.
  • Accountability of test inventory.
  • Coordinate and/or attend study-related meetings.
  • Review case report form's (CRF) accurate completion and entry into electronic databases.
  • Organize study results into form in which they can be readily interpreted by scientific/project staff.
  • Perform laboratory assays, sample prep, shipping of blood products.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology or relevant field; Master's degree desired.
  • Minimum one year of research laboratory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Complete understanding and wide application of principles, theories and concepts and general knowledge of other related disciplines.
  • Certifications or ability to obtain certification during the first 2 years of employment:
  • Certified Clinical Trial Investigator (CCTI) • Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) • Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) from the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) or the Society of Clinical Research Associates (SoCRA).
  • Strong knowledge of scientific terminology and the ability to learn quickly.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze clinical and laboratory data preferred.
  • Ability to multi-task function independently.
  • Exceptional written, verbal communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Teams etc.
