- Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated student to hire for our PD Cell-Culture Associate Scientist Co-Op or Intern position. The PD Cell-Culture Associate Scientist Co-Op will help to design, execute, and author upstream Cell Culture development, tech transfer, and optimization studies. The student will also partner with other internal PD teams during process tech transfer.
- Essential Job Functions
- Completes all required training (i.e. safety, equipment etc.).
- Performs job specific tasks in compliance with applicable regulations, International standards, and WuXi Biologics internal policies and guidelines.
- Contributes to project workflow to ensure on time delivery: from initial planning, experiment execution, to data evaluation.
- Designs and executes lab-scale experiment.
- Contributes to the overall operations and to the achievement of departmental goals.
- Working on bench scale Cell Culture Process Development, optimization and process transfer studies under supervision. Conducting pilot-scale experiments for non-GMP material generation.
- Requirements
- Upper level undergraduates working towards BS/BA or recent graduates, in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Life sciences, Biochemical engineering, or related field.
- Strong oral & written communication skills are required. Proficient in Microsoft (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Great team player and ability to build positive collaboration with team members and to exhibit effective interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a self-motivated, multiple tasks, highly flexible, well-organized and detailed-oriented style.
- Hands-on experience in Cell Culture Process/medium development using bench scale bioreactors is preferred, but not required.
- Experience with cell biology, microbial fermentation, mammalian Cell Culture, protein purification, analytical sciences, bioassay development, working in cGMP environment or Biologics CMC development is preferred, but not required.
