About Izote Biosciences:

At Izote Biosciences, we're developing the latest in anaerobic fermentation techniques and are harnessing the power and efficiency of our unique oxygen-free bioprocessing method. Our technology rethinks microbial metabolism, enabling a step-change in process efficiency and paving the way for the next generation of bio-based products. We’re a hungry team of molecular biologists and fermentation specialists looking to change how bioprocessing is done today!

Responsibilities:

• Conducting routine molecular biology procedures and analysis
• Maintaining laboratory equipment and supplies
• Keeping detailed records of experimental procedures and results
• Communicating results and progress to the research team

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in biology or related field
• 1-3 years of experience in molecular biology
• Strong molecular biology skills, including experience with techniques such as PCR, gel electrophoresis, Gibson assembly, Golden Gate assembly, and DNA extraction
• Experience with common laboratory equipment, such as centrifuges and spectrophotometers
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically

Preferred:

• Familiarity with advanced synthetic biology techniques and their applications in metabolic engineering or systems biology
• Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., R, Python) and bioinformatics tools
• Familiarity with industrial fermentation
• Experience working with and modifying non-model anaerobic microorganisms
