The Research and Development Senior Lab Technician executes daily project tasks and lab work requests with minimal supervision. The employee will be efficient at working with defined standard operating procedures (SOPs) and making minor adjustments to established product lines to achieve performance or application efficiencies.
- Develop and test formulations from developed standard operating procedures (SOPs), analyzing the resulting data to form conclusions. Will work with a more experienced chemist, project lead or direct manager to modify existing products, manufacture new experimental formulations and trial process changes for customers.
- Maintain project documentation consistent with best practices, communicating and reporting test results to lab personnel.
- Represent Research and Development and work efffective with cross-functional groups including but not limited to quality control and pilot plans.
- Provide direct support to sales, marketing and supply chain efforts through reports, presentation, and guidance/recommendations.
- Work within established timelines with minimal reminders.
- Maintain clean and organized work environment.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Associates, vocational, or technical degree in related field preferred.
- 5 years' experience in a laboratory environment. Experience in the coatings industry or chemical manufacturing preferred.
- Comply with site and laboratory safety requirements and policies.
- Ability to maintain effective cross-functional relationships to ensure product delivery.
- Effective interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
The salary range for these skills is $56,000.00 - $62,000.00. This position is eligible for overtime. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This salary range may also be modified in the future.
