This is a remote work position, but candidate may choose to work at ICJIA's downtown Chicago office during the agency's regular business hours Monday thru Friday (8:30 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.) pending availability.
This is a full-time position. The selected candidate must work 37.5 hours per week. The selected candidate will start as soon as possible.
This position is TEMPORARY and does NOT include state benefits.

ILLINOIS IS PARTICIPATING IN JUSTICE COUNTS, A NATIONAL PROGRAM INITIATED BY THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE'S OFFICE OF JUSTICE PROGRAMS' BUREAU OF JUSTICE ASSISTANCE (SEE THE JUSTICE COUNTS WEBSITE). THE GOAL OF JUSTICE COUNTS IS TO COLLECT AND DISSEMINATE A SET OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE DATA METRICS. COLLECTIVELY, THE METRICS PERTAIN TO SEVEN CRIMINAL JUSTICE SECTORS, SELECTED TO ENCOMPASS A WIDE RANGE OF JUSTICE SYSTEM ACTIVITY (E.G., LAW ENFORCEMENT, COURTS, PRISONS). THE ILLINOIS CRIMINAL JUSTICE INFORMATION AUTHORITY SEEKS A PROJECT MANAGER TO COORDINATE COLLECTION AND DISSEMINATION OF ILLINOIS JUSTICE COUNTS METRICS. THE SELECTED CANDIDATE SHOULD HAVE STRONG PROJECT MANAGEMENT SKILLS, THE ABILITY TO WORK COOPERATIVELY WITH A WIDE VARIETY OF JUSTICE SYSTEM PRACTITIONERS, AND THE ABILITY TO MANIPULATE AND ANALYZE QUANTITATIVE DATA.
Job Responsibilities

1. Create project plans and timelines.
2. Conduct descriptive analysis of project data sufficient to ensure that data is clean and consistent.
3. Create data documentation to include meta-data and Data dictionaries.
4. Act as project liaison to funders and project consultants.
5. Administrate and facilitate project meetings.
6. Author mandatory grant progress reports.
7. Coordinate data transfer and load processes.
8. Create and implement a data management plan.
9. Create and modify project budgets.
10. Work with information technology staff to conceptualize website modifications.
11. Create written content to be placed on ICJIA public website.
12. Develop a promotion and awareness plan then develop dissemination materials stemming from the plan.

Minimum Qualifications
1. Master's degree in a social science discipline (including, but not limited to, criminal justice / criminology, sociology, psychology, economics, or political science), statistics, data science, public policy, social work, or project management.
2. Experience leading at least one project team of three or more persons in a professional capacity on a project lasting six months or longer and involving multiple stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications

1. Prefers at least one year of experience structuring, maintaining, and analyzing large datasets.
2. Prefers at least one year of experience using R to manipulate and analyze data.
3. Prefers at least one year of experience writing SQL scripts to manipulate and analyze data.
4. Prefers Project Management Institute (PMI) Certification or similar project management training credentials.

ICJIA responds to community needs with Research and federal and state grants administration. ICJIA administers over 100 million dollars in grants, including the R3 (restore, reinvest, renew) grants (funded through the tax on legalized cannabis), state violence prevention grants, and federal grants including under the Violence Against Women Act and the Victims of Crime Act. ICJIA convenes groups and collaborates on efforts to reform the criminal justice system. ICJIA leads criminal justice reform efforts by supporting policy makers through research.
