The Analyst plays an instrumental role in the day-to-day reporting and problem-solving of research projects, providing insights to help drive revenue and understand the current and future media landscape.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- In partnership with the Director and VP, you will work closely to support internal key stakeholders: Distribution and Content Strategy, Corporate Strategy, and Finance teams with data-driven insights.
- Provide regular reporting dashboards/ trackers to provide senior management actionable guidance on the performance of Hallmark Media platforms (linear and digital) and its competitors nationally and locally.
- Create rating stories and digital insights for the Distribution sales and marketing teams supporting sales efforts and negotiations across Traditional cable, vMVPD, and Digital distribution partners (AVOD/FAST, and SVOD.)
- Fulfill ad-hoc requests to help guide revenue-generating business decisions under tight deadlines.
- Participate in keeping Hallmark media abreast of changes in the Media landscape by sourcing forecasting data (Pay TV, TV usage, SVOD, and AVOD/FAST), competitive business initiatives, and trends through earnings calls and industry news that helps move the business forward.
- Collaborate in providing insights that help inform decisions for Hallmark Media’s linear networks and digital properties by leveraging various data sources (i.e., Nielsen, ComScore, Stream metrics, Antenna, WhipMedia/Mediamorph, etc.) for insights to drive the business.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS
- 1+ years of relevant research experience translating large volumes of complex data into accurate, timely, actionable business insights.
- Experience in working with database tools and platforms.
- Knowledge of Nielsen-based systems and viewing statistics.
- Undergraduate degree – Business, Communications, Marketing, Social/Behavioral Sciences, or related field.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Experience within a TV and streaming research team is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to apply to research planning and execution to address business questions.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly when it comes to data quality and reporting.
- Prior experience with Nielsen/ComScore/Star Media/Antenna methodologies preferred.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills to provide a narrative using data.
- Ability to work independently.
- Must have strong collaboration skills.
- Must have excellent PC skills (Microsoft Office applications).
- Experience with Google Analytics a plus.
- Willingness and ability to learn in a fast-paced environment.
The salary range for this job is between $47,700- $63,600 annually. Salary rate will take into consideration several factors including location.
