Dexis Consulting Group seeks an experienced Research Analyst to propose an opportunity with the Department of Labor's (DOL) Chief Evaluation Office (CEO). This opportunity includes a feasibility evaluation, implementation evaluation, and impact evaluation of the DOL's fourth iteration of the Strengthening Community Colleges (SCC4) career pathways grant program. The Research Analyst will perform pre-evaluation activities, data collection and analysis, policy assessments/analysis, program assessments/analysis, technical assistance/expertise, deliverable development and dissemination, and other auxiliary/support.
This position is contingent upon award.
Responsibilities- Works closely with the Senior Research Analyst and Principal Investigator (PI) to implement an evaluability assessment, implementation evaluation, and/or an impact evaluation;
- Assists with the implementation of the PI-developed methodology to include qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis;
- Supports the planning, development, and maintenance of research, data and related databases and systems;
- Contributes to the synthesis and analysis of findings and recommendations;
- Supports team with drafting, editing and proof-reading deliverables for diverse U.S. Government and public audiences including interim and final reports, briefing materials, webinar materials.;
- Works in conjunction with the team to produce the deliverables.
- Contributes to overall client satisfaction and quality assurance.
- Bachelor's degree in behavioral science, economics, sociology, or another relevant social science field;
- A minimum of two (2) years of relevant research experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience;
- Experience with quantitative research including designing, implementing, and analyzing open-source data and surveys (preferably with US government agencies) or experience with qualitative research including designing, implementing, and analyzing key informant interviews (KIIs) and focus group discussions (FGDs);
- Ability to compile, assess, and analyze key research into literature reviews;
- Ability to receive and incorporate feedback into deliverables;
- Experience contributing to and drafting high-quality reports for diverse audiences;
- Strong organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
- Fluency in English required.
- Technical experience in one or more of the following:
- Designing and implementing rigorous causal evaluations including with random assignment evaluation methodology, quasi-experimental methods, sampling methodology, data analysis, and power calculations;
- Implementing rigorous evaluation projects and providing technical assistance on evaluation procedures and data requirements to sites to implement evaluations;
- Preparation of high-quality Paperwork Reduction Act packages submitted to OMB;
- Quantitative and qualitative data collection methods
- Communicating and disseminating complex evaluation findings to program and policy audiences.
- Engaging and consulting workers in historically marginalized, underrepresented, and underserved within the identified sectors and communities.
