The Repair Technician performs complex technical assignments and requires minimum supervision. Under minimum direction, repairs a wide range of test, measurement, and diagnostic instrumentation in accordance with customer specifications, company policies and procedures and generally accepted Metrology practices and standards. Works in a calibration laboratory. Safeguards company and customer equipment, materials and information learned in execution of duties.
A wide variety of test and measurement instrumentation work experience is required, such as but not limited to Pressure, Temperature, Electrical/Electronic, Radio Frequency (RF), Microwave, Physical Dimensional and fiber Optic.
- Overhaul, align, troubleshoot, and/or repair to component level
- Conduct their own research when necessary
- Work in a self-directed manner, coordinating work priority with lab support and local management / team leads.
- Read, comprehend, and follow schematics prepared by manufacturers to analyze and troubleshoot circuitry and repair a variety of test measurement and control instrumentation.
- Analyze complex waveform, voltage, current, power, impedance frequency, microwave, temperature, and other electronic presentations
- Use and comprehend technical data, technical manuals, and manufacturers' handbooks, as well as engineering instructions and drawings.
- Troubleshoot and repair instrumentation using available resources.
- Comply with company, customer and governmental policies, requirements and regulations for time and material, and record keeping
- Other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Previous repair experience preferred
- Basic mathematical skills including algebra, geometry, and statistics
- Familiarity with basic tools
- Proficiency with office computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Basic organizational and time management skills
- Basic interpersonal skills to interact with customers
- Candidates with experience in PMEL, PME, TMDE, Metrology, Calibration, ASQ CCT, METCAL, GPETE, Electronics, GCAMS, or Avionics highly desired
- A "learning mentality": willingness to learn troubleshooting and repair a variety of items.
Education and Experience:
- Associate degree from college or technical school; or 2-5 years of related field experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
