Repair Technician Iii

Position summary:

Gems Setra is seeking a motivated Repair Technician to join our Service team to assist in providing our customers with exceptional after-market product support. In this role the employee will be responsible for troubleshooting, calibrating, and repairing customer product returns. This position requires someone who is detailed orientated and able to work in fast paced environment.

Essential Functions:

• Perform customer return evaluations and provide data as to failure mode.
• Evaluations include, troubleshooting electronic PCBA to identify component failures, using cell testing equipment to ensure product functionality, and identifying errors.
• Processing all calibration returns, including as found data and final calibration.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair electronic assemblies.
• Responsible for meeting the required service turnaround times as quoted to customers.
• Maintains detailed records and documentation of repair information.
• Collaborate across functional teams as needed to meet customer’s requirements.
• Lead root cause analysis and drive countermeasures on all product repairs, and collaborate with manufacturing, engineering and quality teams.
• Demonstrate implementation of continuous improvement tools within the service team.
• General use of electrical and mechanical equipment such as Digital Multimeters, electronic/mechanical gauges, power supplies and hand tools

• Strong analytical skills; ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Leads corrective actions with manufacturing and quality as needed.
• Possess Technical skills include calibration, environmental testing, & soldering skills.
• Must be customer obsessed and driven to meet our customer needs.
• Overall knowledge of soldering components to printed circuit board assemblies

Required Skills/Experience:

• Ability to reason through problems and resolve them to the customer’s satisfaction using information and tools available.
• Must be able to read and understand schematics, assembly drawings and test / calibration procedures
• Soldering skills – Solder, de-solder surface mount, traces on PCB’s
• Knowledge of ESD
• Strong verbal/written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and PC skills.

Education & Experience Required:

• Bachelor's of Science degree or equivalent experience in a technical field from an accredited school or equivalent on the job training.
• 3+ years’ experience in testing, troubleshooting and repair of equipment and processes.

Pay: $27.00 - $32.00 per hour
