Job Description: Mechanical Maintenance Technician
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Technician to join our manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, Maintaining Manufacturing Equipment including repair and preventive maintenance. The candidate should be experienced in PLC-based control systems and have experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting robotic and other machinery.
Basic Qualifications:
- Journey level mechanical skills with a minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical/electrical troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of manufacturing, R&D, and facility equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize various projects and workloads effectively.
- Solid foundational knowledge of PLC-based control systems, preferably with experience in Allen Bradley/Rockwell systems.
- Demonstrated proficiency in electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic diagnosis and troubleshooting of machinery and equipment.
- Ability to document startup processes and designs of mechanical and electrical systems for production equipment.
- Capability to analyze equipment installation practices and provide solutions to improve installation schedules' efficacy.
- Effective interpersonal, teamwork, prioritization, and written/verbal communication skills, reflecting honesty, integrity, and respect for fellow associates.
- Strong attention to detail in documentation, with excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency, including data entry and Microsoft Office programs.
- Physical dexterity to climb ladders and lift up to 35 lbs.
- Knowledge of safe working practices around moving and electrical equipment.
- Ability to perform basic to intermediate level fabrications and machine modifications using standard machine shop equipment (drill press, saw, mill, lathe, hand tools, etc.).
- Demonstrated proficiency in using a variety of machine shop and handheld power tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10+ years of work experience in installing, troubleshooting, building, and maintaining equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Nice to have: Electrical contracting license or formal trade qualification.
- Experience in robotics.
- Fabrication/machining experience in a development environment.
- Proficiency in maintaining, troubleshooting, and modifying PLC/PC controllers such as motor control systems, servo drives, frequency drives, etc.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and tools, including 5S and Kaizen.
- Familiarity with systems for data collection and Quality Control.
