Renewable Energy Analyst


EnergySage is seeking a highly motivated, passionate Renewable Energy Industry Analyst to join our insights team. This is a highly visible role both internally and externally to the organization. As a Renewable Energy Industry Analyst at EnergySage, you will help build the Insights function at EnergySage by contributing to clean energy market research and analysis, data research, customer research, and report writing, as well as to our company-wide understanding of technologies, equipment, and players in the clean energy space. You will work closely with cross-functional partners, as well as colleagues in the marketing department, to provide leverage and insights both internally to the organization and to external partners.

EnergySage is the most trusted and respected source for Renewable Energy content by both consumers and the industry. Through the EnergySage Marketplace, our mission is to help consumers shop for and transition to clean energy and energy-saving technologies like solar energy, heat pumps, and electric vehicles for their homes and beyond.

Reports to the Director of Insights.


WhatYou'll Do:

  • Original equipment manufacturer analysis and engagement
    • Analyze and track changes to residential clean energy equipment: solar panels, inverters, batteries, heat pumps, electric vehicle chargers, and more
    • Support and manage the equipment rating system for solar equipment, and help to develop similar rating systems for other clean energy technology.
    • Engage with and develop relationships with major OEMs in the industry
  • Market research and analysis:
    • Monitor regulatory and policy changes, and report on their implications for the business and our consumers
    • Research and analyze key industry trends and areas of interest to allow the company to gain a competitive advantage
  • Internal team support:
    • Become a valued contributor to multiple marketing workstreams, as well as a cross-functional partner with marketplace, product, and partnerships.
    • Contribute to content development to integrate equipment insights and industry data into consumer education.
  • Industry engagement
    • Lead writing of industry-focused EnergySage Intel reports, collaborating cross-functionally to successfully publish
    • Represent EnergySage at industry events and conferences

What We Look For:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience, ideally in solar, with an understanding of energy industry trends and impacts on regional markets, market participants and technology providers servicing the energy industry.
  • Excellent written, interpersonal and presentation communication skills, and ability to confidently and clearly communicate to both internal and external audiences.
  • Ability to gather and analyze large amounts of information quickly and accurately, and develop compelling, insightful recommendations.
  • A high degree of initiative and curiosity.
  • Strong team player who is easy to partner with across functions.
  • Experience conducting original market research.
  • Familiarity with research methodologies.
