The Opportunity
Reporting to the Senior Producer, Integrated Productions, the Remote Technical Operator (RTO) will perform the duties of the assistant director, audio board operator, A2 and camera operator positions for assigned remote and non-remote productions. The RTO will also partner with the Technical Production Manager to assist with the upkeep and servicing of equipment, loading, unloading, set up and inventorying of gear both on location and while it is at QVC Studio Park. The RTO will advise freelance personnel and less experienced team members to ensure the smooth set up and break down of QVC equipment. Uses experience of technical production and equipment on assigned productions to make independent decisions as to the configuration and placement of equipment, running of cables and loading and unloading gear, solves problems as they arise and adapts to requested changes inherent to live television production and communicates these changes in a timely manner to leadership and those affected.

Your Impact
- Under the direction of the show Director, work as a Technical Operator during the live show including performing the duties of Assistant Directing, Board Operator, Audio 2 or camera operator to provide the best visual and audio experience for the viewer. You will make decisions in the moment to enhance role and elevate the broadcast.
- Assist in the upkeep of equipment, including set up and practicing of technical procedures during equipment downtime in partnership with a schedule determined by QVC Engineering and the Technical Production Manager. You will research and suggest improvements in equipment set up, use and future purchases from a user perspective.
- Assist as a Technical Operator on specialty non-remote productions including corporate productions, livestreams, customer events and live audience shows. Combines experience from specialty broadcasts to advise on best practices for the set up and execution of technical role with partners requesting support.
What You Bring
- 3+ years of experience live broadcast television production experience is required
- Hands-on working knowledge of broadcasting equipment including microphones, audio boards, cameras, cabling required.
- An undergraduate degree in Broadcast Media, Communications or a related field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience is required
- Knowledge of QVC live and remote television production practices, ability to direct and coach others through complex tasks.
- Ability to travel - This role is a production-oriented position and requires you to travel periodically to various locations for production and filming purposes. You will work with a team of professionals to capture video footage for products manufacturing at various locations and post-production editing processes. The frequency of travel can vary depending on the production workload and project demands, but typically involve around 30% of working hours away from home or the standard work environment.
