Savage is currently hiring a CMMS Program Manager to provide Reliability Engineering and maintenance advice and training to maintenance team members. This will include training and technical support for our computerized maintenance management software (CMMS).
 
In this role, you will also work closely with operations, equipment, and procurement teams to facilitate proper maintenance and Reliability Engineering of company equipment (trucks, tractors, trailers, yellow equipment, conveyors, pumps, and various processing equipment) and proper usage of our CMMS. This position will be based in Midvale, UT but, has the ability to be remote.

What you'll be doing:

  • Implementation of CMMS system at new facilities and existing facilities
  • Actively identify opportunities for improved performance and efficiencies of assets and systems
  • Assist in maintaining relationships with CMMS users, which ensures a high level of trust and clear and direct communication
  • Become an expert on Savages CMMS system, Manager Plus, to provide troubleshooting support for the operational team
  • Monitor changes and trends within CMMS and understand how that can translate to bottom-line savings
  • Provide analysis and support to assist operations in identifying failure trends, for systems and or equipment
  • Analyze the effects of the PM schedules and operating environments and make recommendations for changes if needed.
  • Support the Purchasing team with inventory management and Oracle (ERP system) questions
  • Assist in training new and existing team members on the CMMS system
  • Help develop and support our OEM partner interfaces to share information on the equipment
  • Interface with the IS team and ensure the systems (Geo-Tab, Oracle, etc.) are talking and functioning properly
  • Provide input on setting Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) and monitor their trends with the Operational team
  • Analyze the life of equipment and make repair/replacement recommendations
  • Track process improvements and risk mitigation efforts 
  • Responsible for assisting in maintaining, developing, and creating dependable equipment schedules
  • Implements continuous improvements, supports new system installations
  • Assists, trains/coaches Team Members in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and the repair of machinery and equipment Prepares test and diagnostic programs, designs test fixtures and procedures, and assists in equipment selection for new products such as semiconductor processing components.
  • Designs, develops, and implements cost-effective methods of testing systems and equipment for all phases of the lifecycle.
  • The engineer will provide technical expertise in test parameter selection, development of specifications, analysis of electrical and product reliability, and direct failure analyses.
  • Participates significantly in projects to optimize and improve existing materials, products, processes and/or procedures.
  • Operate and test equipment with an understanding of functionality based on underlying engineering principles.
  • Participates in the company's safety culture and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Manage multiple projects ensuring that they stay on time and within budget, including oversight of the CPT process on large machines.
  • Work with OEM dealerships and national account representatives to help troubleshoot problems and help source/ locate parts.  
  • Work with Process Engineers and the Maintenance team to create or optimize PM programs for new equipment
  • Work closely with key stakeholders including Facilities, EHS, Industrial Engineering, and Operations to ensure new equipment meets all our facility requirements. Provide updates to key management.
  • Recommend Capex roadmap; selection, purchase, and qualification of new yellow equipment
  • Drive improvements to the capital equipment lifecycle uptime and lower total cost of ownership.
  • Assist with complicated equipment down issues. Supports installation, commissioning, and training activities as necessary.

What You Need to Be Successful:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or technical equivalent work experience required
  • Previous program management, equipment, and/or maintenance experience with yellow equipment or larger equipment material handling/earth moving equipment required.
  • Prior large-scale maintenance or yellow equipment experience is required.
  • Experience working with CMMS software including and beyond Microsoft Office Suite
  • Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) program certification is a plus.
  • Ability to travel up to 80% during implementation, then dropping to 35% more consistently
  • The position is primarily based in an office setting where sitting and standing may be required for several hours at a time
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

This is typically an office position located at our Service Support Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. During implementation of the system, travel requirements to site locations will be heavy (50%+) Applicant will be required to access equipment, climb ladders, review and inspect site locations, and need to be able to lift 40lbs if needed. Must be able to wear a respirator at sites where required
