Overview:
Under direct supervision of the AR Manager, the role of the Release of information/Mail Specialist works as part of the Revenue Cycle team to process Release of information request and request for mail processes. The Release of Information/Mail Specialist ensures all requests are processed in a timely manner in accordance with Endeavor Healthcare processes and procedures.
Primary Responsibilities:
The duties identified below are the essential functions of this position, this is not an inclusive list, and other duties may be assigned.
· Receives and responds to incoming request for medical records, processes mail, responds to telephone and email inquiries, and retrieves facsimile(fax) inquiries in a timely manner
· Analyze and review medical records request to ensure the documentation retrieved is the documentation needed to support the claims being appealed
· Ability to upload medical records/itemized statements and other documents into Payer portals.
· Collect and complete the information from the company ROI and Mailing log for completion of daily duties following company procedures and established standard of quality and productivity
· Organizes workload and prioritizes work tasks to meet management’s production goals.
Qualifications:
Three years hospital/physician billing, hospital business office/ or health insurance accounts receivable collections experience. Working Expertise is medical insurance payers, Medicare, Medicaid, BCBS, Commercial Insurance, Government payers, Government, etc. Knowledge of EMR systems within the Patient Accounting systems. This is a unique position that retrieves medical records request for the Revenue Cycle team, knowledge in Release of information, billing and accounts receivable collections experience is a plus.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
· Knowledge of medical billing/collection practices.
· Knowledge of computer programs.
· Knowledge of All insurance payers.
· Knowledge of medical computer software, including Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
· Ability to operate a computer, computer programs, and basic office equipment including a multi-line telephone system.
· Ability to read, understand and comprehend the CPT, ICD 10 and HCPCS manual.
· Must be well organized and detail oriented.
· Ability to make decisions and solve problems.
· Ability to follow instructions and to meet deadlines.
· Requires excellent communication skills with attention to detail and timeliness.
· Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
· Promptly identify issues and develop action plans for resolution with supervisor.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
