Summary:
As a member of the Subadvisory & Retirement Coverage Team, the Relationship Manager is responsible for collaborating with senior colleagues to deliver a best-in-class client experience to existing strategic and prospective Subadvisory & Retirement relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of NB Capabilities across equities, fixed income and alternatives and be able to present them as solutions to prospective clients
- Build and advance a robust pipeline of Subadvisory opportunities from fund sponsors including insurance carriers, asset management companies, CIT sponsors, ETF sponsors etc.
- Develop opportunities with key recordkeepers and specialty retirement advisor groups (Aggregators) for inclusion in select lists and placement in new products they create including CITs, AMAs, PEPs etc.
- Manage the day-to-day relationship for Subadvisory and Retirement clients (recordkeepers, advisor groups and 3(38) providers) partnering with senior members of the coverage teams
- Uncover cross-selling opportunities for mutual fund placements, recordkeeper/3(38) select lists and model inclusions through client interactions
- Travel to meet with home office client relationships, coordinate manager roadshows and PM updates. Travel approximately 50% of time.
- Liaise with legal, product, marketing, and RFP colleagues for quarterly/annual and ad hoc requests.
- Identify potential institutional sales opportunities through technology resources (Evestment, Morningstar, SimFund etc.) Review daily information from institutional market data providers to identify potential search activity
- Partner with Operations and NBIA Client Services to onboard new mandates and resolve issues with funded accounts.
- Manage quarterly client outreach and distribution of attribution, commentary, whitepapers, and NB thought leadership
- Schedule/coordinate and lead institutional client due diligence meetings providing appropriate meeting material and pre-meeting relationship summary to meeting attendees for review prior to meetings.
- Participate in various industry client events representing and potentially speaking on NB capabilities
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate Degree required (MBA, CFA or other relevant distinctions preferred).
- 7-10 years of Financial Industry experience with experience working on a client team preferably within Intermediary Sales at an asset management firm
- Ability to effectively communicate capital markets views and position complex investment products to clients.
- Proven success working within a fast-paced dynamic team environment.
- Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail and follow up.
- Capacity to adjust to multiple demands and shifting priorities.
- Intermediary Distribution knowledge preferred.
- Series 7, 31, 63 and 65/66 preferred.
Compensation Details
The salary range for this role is $140,000-$180,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in New York City. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for a discretionary bonus.
