A DAY IN THE LIFE OF Reimbursement, RCM Quality Auditor

The RCM Quality Auditor conducts monthly quality assurance audits of the work performed by members of the revenue cycle management team. In addition to conducting these audits, this individual is responsible for developing and maintaining comprehensive quality assurance documentation. This includes auditing reports, performance metrics, and process improvement plans to effectively communicate results to reimbursement management.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum Requirements
    • Bachelor's degree in accounting, healthcare administration, or related field required and/or equivalent combination of experience and education. 
    • Minimum of eight years of experience in a revenue cycle management role.
    • Minimum of two years of experience performing Quality audits in a revenue cycle management environment.  
    • Proven track record of consistently applying policies and procedures in a healthcare billing environment.
    • Extensive knowledge of all tasks within the health insurance billing process
    • Hands-on experience creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
    • Knowledge of healthcare compliance regulations, such as HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer guidelines.
    • Actively displays behaviors that support the mission, vision, and values of Castle Biosciences.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Advanced in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook

BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES

  • Strong analytics and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills and be able to articulate clearly verbally and in writing.
  • Self-starter and self-learner with minimal supervision
  • Team player with a positive attitude who is able and willing to help others.
  • Proficiency in using revenue cycle management software or other healthcare technology platforms.
