General Summary
Registered Respiratory Therapists provide respiratory therapy treatments and interventions to patients in various settings, including critical care units, emergency departments, and general patient care areas.
*Assess and monitor patients' respiratory status, including oxygen levels, breathing patterns, and lung function
*Administer medications and inhalation therapies as prescribed by physicians
*Perform diagnostic tests, such as pulmonary function tests and arterial blood gas analysis
*Collaborate with healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans
*Educate patients and their families on respiratory care techniques and disease management
*Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
Qualifications
-Associates Degree required and successful completion of the examination offered by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist in a hospital or clinical setting
- Proficiency in ventilator management and critical care respiratory therapy
- Strong knowledge of respiratory physiology, anatomy, and pathophysiology
- Familiarity with medication administration related to respiratory therapy
- Ability to perform patient assessments and develop appropriate treatment plans
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Required.
