Responsibilities:
A. Plan and implement nursing care. This includes administration of medication, therapeutic agents, treatments, disease prevention, physicians’ orders, as well as obtaining specimens for diagnostic testing.
B. Participate as a member of the Inter-Disciplinary Team in developing multi-disciplinary treatment efforts; complete assigned weekly summaries, formulate care plans, assist physicians with rounds; note and institute physician orders.
C. Provide observation, ongoing patient assessments, and therapeutic intervention consistent with the patient's physical and psychological status; evaluate the effectiveness of patient treatment regimens and record progress.
D. Document all nursing activities in medical records, including an initial nursing assessment, treatment interventions, and patient education.
E. Ensure that staff utilizes optimum standards of resident care and that staff members observe safety and Infection Control Precautions and regulations at all times;
The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the Med/Surg/Telemetry Unit. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her assigned patients. He / She communicates with physician about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including cardiac monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.
Documents required:
- Must be actively licensed in the state of Pennsylvania as a Registered Nurse
- CPR or BLS Certification
- ACLS Certified
- PALS Certified
- Physical Test and a TB Test (taken within one year)
- 1 year prior experience required
- Driver's License or State ID
- Must be fully vaccinated with booster shot
