A Registered professional oncology nurse is responsible for delivery of outpatient infusion and treatments to a varied population. The RN directs and guides patient teaching on diagnosis, treatment, drugs, diet, and lifestyle changes while maintaining standards of professional nursing. The RN works directly with physicians, pharmacist and registration coordinating and scheduling treatment for the patient.
This is an opportunity to be trained for an Out-Patient Oncology RN position.
Qualifications:
RN, licensed in the state of Massachusetts
-Three (3) years med/surg experience within last five (5) years
-Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred
-BLS
-ACLS preferred
-Epic experience preferred
-Recent experience with caring for the oncology patient or recent oncology education preferred
Role may include on site, off site and self-guided training over the course of two (2) years as well as:
- Completion of Oncology Nurse Orientation Bundle within first 90 days of hire. This includes the following courses: Cancer Basics, Cancer Biology and Fundamentals of chemotherapy immunotherapy administration.
- Enrollment in ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate Course at nine-month mark and successful completion of certification.
- The nurse will commit to one additional year of service in the new position once they have become clinically competent and qualified.
