Position: Regional Training Specialist

Reports to: Training/Compliance Manager and Regional Manager

Status: Full-time, salary exempt

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- include and are not limited to:

  • Evaluate the efficiency of training and compliance programs and improve them continuously.
  • Plan and deliver training courses where necessary to compliment training provided externally or internally by others.
  • Collaborate with Store Managers, Regional Managers and other departments within the company.
  • Keep up to date of training resources within or outside of the company as well as evolving best practices in. Prepare reports for senior management as appropriate
  • Possess a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation and the ability to travel throughout the market area.
  • Abide by all safety related procedures as required by the company especially while working with cleaning products and other hazardous materials inside and outside the store and while exposed to gasoline fumes.
  • Be able to react to a fire by using a fire extinguisher weighing 25 pounds and transporting it to the fire area.
  • Be able to work in a cooler that is 30 degrees or below for 30 minutes at a time.
  • Comply with all policies and procedures in company provided handbooks and or manuals 100% of the time.

RESPONSIBILITIES- include and are not limited to:

Administrative

  • Monitor and report on activities, costs and performance as required.
  • Develop self, and maintain knowledge in relevant fields at all times.
  • Reports to work with minimal absenteeism or tardiness.
  • Attend job related training and informational seminars as requested.
  • Performs other job related activities and special projects as assigned.

Customer Service

  • Provide enthusiastic customer service to all customers and ensure staff does the same.
  • Handle customer complaints fast and effectively to ensure that we provide all of our customers with the best buying experience.

Training

  • Stay informed as to relevant skill and qualifications levels required by staff for effective performance, and circulates requirements and relevant information to the organization as appropriate.
  • Produce organizational strategy and plans to meet training and development needs, and manage training delivery, measurement and follow-up as necessary.
  • Design and manage training courses and programs necessary to meet training needs.
  • Identify, select and manage external training and accreditation bodies, agencies and providers necessary to deliver required training to appropriate standards.
  • Organize training venues, logistics, transport, accommodation as required, to achieve efficient training attendance and delivery.
  • Arrange for the maintenance of all necessary equipment and materials relating to the effective delivery and measurement of training.
  • Ensure all training activities and materials meet with relevant organizational and statutory policies, including health and safety, employment and equality laws 100% of the time.

Store Presentation

  • Ensure that the store image is consistent with the company’s standards and reputation for cleanliness, quality products and customer service.
  • Maintenance: Provide routine preventive maintenance to keep all equipment operating at maximum efficiency. Immediately inform the District Manager, Regional Manager and “FIXIT” of all major equipment problems.
  • Protect company assets at all times, in accordance with company policy and procedures.
  • Be able to perform all responsibilities and requirements as specified in the job description of the Store Manager.

REQUIREMENTS – include and are not limited to:

  • Provide oneself with a reliable means of transportation to and from work and the ability to be reached by telephone.
  • Flexibility to accommodate sudden schedule changes and if an emergency arises.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS- include and are not limited to:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Intermediate/Advanced Excel, Word and PowerPoint Skills preferred
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills to deal effectively with a wide variety of people assertively and confidently.
  • Possess/maintain a valid driver’s license,
